The Collective’s analysis

Under-researched in France, chronic respiratory diseases do not appear as a scientific priority for the Government, as shown by the low level of knowledge on the epidemiology of respiratory diseases. The recent strategy for health research funding provides no certainty to health actors that France can make up for lost ground. In parallel, the access to digital innovations, which is a government’s priority to reorganize health care, has recently been supported by various measures that still need to be developed to ensure sustainable and adapted access.

Our priorities for 2023

·Set up a remote monitoring framework for respiratory diseases that is sustainable for the community and financially viable for the actors involved in the practice and encourage the development of digital respiratory health innovations.

Support and strengthen Respiratory Health Research in particular by developing a public-private research fund and including the European Union and local authorities.

Create transparent statistical census tools at the national level for each type of respiratory disease to document the health, social and professional impact of these diseases.
