Thématique 1
Lutter contre les facteurs de risques environnementaux et comportementaux
Our assessment of the policies and measures deployed
ON TRACK
The Collective’s analysis
The Government has decided to put prevention at the core of the national health strategy and has initiated several measures to reduce the impact of environmental factors on health. These measures, historically based on the fight against smoking, should today go further to include all environments in which patients live, and particularly their home. Furthermore, while it is essential to implement measures against air pollution in urban areas, such measures would be equally needed in rural areas which are also faced with other pollution issues such as pesticides.
Our priorities for 2023
Organize a national conference on environmental and respiratory health to define a road map to review the multiple factors of respiratory diseases.
Increase the number of trained Indoor Environmental Medical Advisors (IEMAs) significantly and promote their role to individually assess each patient with a respiratory disease and set up a sustainable funding framework allowing the reimbursement of these consultations.
Improve air quality indicators by reassessing pollution thresholds and including pollutants that are toxic to the lungs (chlorinated products, pesticides, etc.) and facilitate their access.
